Details

The Apex reads to the flag, not past it. Pin acquisition runs through a dedicated flag lock routine that isolates the nearest vertical target and confirms with a short pulse in the housing, so you know you have the stick and not the tree line behind it. Typical lock time is under half a second inside 250 yards.

The optic is a 6x magnification glass system with a diopter ring for individual eye correction. Readings display to a tenth of a yard out to 800 yards, with a stated accuracy of plus or minus one yard. Slope mode reports the play-as yardage alongside the raw distance, and a physical switch disables slope entirely so the unit is legal for tournament play. The switch position is visible on the outside of the housing, which is what officials look for.

A magnetic strip is molded into the left side of the body, strong enough to hold the unit on a cart rail through a full round on rough paths. The housing is rubberized and rated IPX4 for rain.
